So... I found your number in the teacher's directory. I hope that's okay. Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to grab a cup of coffee.

The text is... amazingly welcome and he's a little proud of the fact that she has more courage than he does to look up the phone number.

More than okay. You're a teacher now too, remember?

Of course, he looks over the text a second time and the English teacher in him runs through all of the connotations that coffee has these days... He tries not to hope because he's a grown man, dammit, and she's a former student and a million or so other reasons.

Coffee is always a welcome addition to my day. With good company, even moreso. When are you free?

He'll ask about the audition when he sees her.

I'll be there.

And he is, a few minutes late because of the idiots on the streets have no regard for crosswalk signals and human life in general. But, in favor of his weak heart and against his better judgement, he shows up.

Mischa walks into the coffee shop and looks around for a second before spotting Dean. She smiles as she makes her way over to him before sitting down. "Sorry I'm late. It was Hell trying to find a cab."

"I hope you weren't in the one that tried to run me down," he chuckles lightly because getting run over in New York is like getting mugged in Baltimore; it happens to everyone. "So who were you auditioning for?"

"I was auditioning for the part of Mimi in an off broadway production of RENT." Mischa tells him before placing her order when the waitress comes to the table. "And I'm pretty sure that it wasn't me who almost ran you over.

"Mimi... I'm almost interested in seeing you in a dying roll," he admits. It's difficult to pull it off without seeming too operatic or cartoon. "How do you think it went?"

Mischa shrugs. "I'm not sure. I guess I'll know by the end of the week if I get a call back. I'm not too concerned about it. This was more of a 'why the Hell not' kind of audition. I don't have my heart set on the role."

An interesting look at the situation and he tells her so; difficult to prove you're worth hiring if you don't have the heart and even if you pull it off... "What are you going to do if you get it?"

"I'll be excited if I get it but this whole audition was done on the fly. I'm not really expecting to get the role. It'll be cool if I do." Mischa then turns as she smiles and thanks the waitress who brought her her coffee.
